Description

Institute for International Studies, a multi-disciplinary research branch of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University), is launching an international research workshop, which aims to create a framework for an international discussion on a broad range of issues related to labor economics and human capital.

Given the ongoing uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, the first edition of the conference will be held in a hybrid format on 12-13 November 2021.

We are very happy to announce that our confirmed keynote speakers are:
● Ruben Enikolopov (New Economic School)
● Nabanita Datta Gupta (Aarhus University)
● Rustam Ibragimov (Imperial College Business School)
● Kevin Lang (Boston University)
● Harry Anthony Patrinos (World Bank)

In addition, Workshop will have a special session on income inequality with the following invited speakers:
● Yulong Wang (Syracuse University)
● Clara Martinez-Toledano (Imperial College London)
● Paul Kattuman (University of Cambridge)

We welcome submissions on a broad range of topics, including (but not limited to):
● Human capital
● Labor economics
● Inequality
● Gender
● Health and development
● Family and childcare

Submissions to the workshop should be sent to workshop.mgimo2021@gmail.com by 20 October 2021 (6.00 PM CET). Papers to be presented at the conference will be selected by the members of the Program committee and the authors will be notified by 25 October 2021.
