The extensive application of information technologies such as the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence has promoted the rapid development of financial digitalization represented by FinTech, and digital finance has increasingly become a key field and main driving force for the development of digital economy. In summary, digital finance can be embodied in the following aspects: Credit, deposit and financing services; Payment, clearing and settlement services, including digital currency; Investment management services (including transactions); Insurance field. digital finance or financial technology may reduce the search cost of matching transaction parties, achieve economies of scale in collecting and using big data, achieve cheaper and more secure information transmission, and reduce verification costs. To this end, digital finance can provide "new ideas" for solving the financing constraints of small, medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With this call for papers, we like to encourage contributions, which explore the potentials and address the links of digital finance with SME financial access. Potentially interesting themes include, but are not restricted to, the following:
• Digital technologies with innovation and financial disintermediation
• The impact of digitalization on the financing decisions of firms
• Digitization of traditional entrepreneurial finance providers
• New forms of digital-based corporate venture capital
• Role, impact and success of fintech companies
• Digitization and the geography of entrepreneurial finance
• Digitalization and financial development of firms
• Risks associated with the emergence of new technologies
• Financial inclusion and innovations
• Payments technologies and innovations
• Financial innovation and sustainable finance

The conference is to be held at Shandong Normal University on June 4 - 5 June,2022. The conference is jointly organized by International Research Center for Digital Finance and Enterprise Development, Business School, Shandong Normal University in association with Centre for Globalisation Research, Queen Mary University of London.

The conference will provide an open platform that brings scholars, industry experts and policy makers to present current research on financial innovation. We are also pleased to announce that the selected papers from the conference will be included in the special issue of Economic Modeling. The papers will undergo the standard reviewing process.
