Job Description & Qualification

SKEMA Business School (https://www.skema.edu/) invites applications for one position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, in the Finance area, to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will develop and/or lead academic research projects with the aim of publishing in the field's highest quality journals.

We encourage applications from scholars from all areas of finance, including corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, corporate governance, alternative investments, fintech, and asset pricing. The candidate may be asked to teach online or on campus-based undergraduate and/or graduate level courses. The candidate is expected to contribute to student mentorship, to projects related to SKEMA SKY25 corporate strategy, and to be actively engaged in other service initiatives, including student selection processes.

The position is permanent with a full-time contract. Salary and conditions are competitive, in line with international standards. SKEMA Business School offers publication bonuses for peer-reviewed publications, following the French CNRS Journals Ranking list. The language of work and instruction is English. Knowledge of French is not required, and we will not use it as a criterion for selection. SKEMA Business School offers support in learning French.

Qualifications must include:
• A Ph.D. in finance or related field.
• Strong evidence of recent research productivity and teaching excellence in finance, or related fields, including evidence of conference presentations, high quality peer-reviewed research publications, exemplary teaching ratings, and awards.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collegial environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to service and/or outreach activities.

ABOUT RESEARCH
The hired candidate with be part of the FAIRR Research Center, which is dedicated to promoting top level academic research in Finance and Accounting. The research center comprises about 25 faculty members in finance and accounting and more than 10 PhD students from the internal PhD program in finance and accounting. FAIRR members are particularly focused on developing high-level expertise in the areas of digital finance, entrepreneurial finance and governance, intermediaries and financial regulation, alongside other corporate finance, market finance and accounting topics.
We organize regular research seminars on the three French campuses, host international workshops and run a PhD program with a dedicated Finance & Accounting track. Moreover, our researchers have access to a wide range of databases, including WRDS (CRSP, Compustat, WorldScope, ISS, IBES...), DealScan, SDC, Datastream etc.
Our members have presented their work at academic and professional conferences and international institutions. Their work has led to publications in top-ranked journals in finance, accounting, management, economics and entrepreneurial finance (including American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Corporate Finance, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Economic Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice).

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in December to schedule an interview.
