Tenure-track faculty positions in Finance

Job Description & Qualification

The Finance Department at HEC Montréal invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions for the academic year 2022/2023. Candidates are sought in all areas of finance.
• Candidates should hold a doctorate in Finance (or in a related field) or be close to the completion of their doctorate degree.
• Candidates should be promising scholars.
• Successful candidates will be expected to publish research in leading journals and to teach high-quality graduate and undergraduate Finance courses.
The typical teaching load for new assistant professors is 3 courses per year for the first two years. Publications are financially rewarded based on journal ranking. French is the primary working environment and language of instruction at HEC Montréal (although many classes at all levels are offered in English and some in Spanish). HEC Montréal provides excellent support (including language teachers and a teaching load reduction during the first year) to facilitate French proficiency inside as well as outside the classroom. Candidates should be able to teach part of their load in French after two years in the position.

• a copy of the Ph.D. diploma (if Ph.D. not obtained yet, use that field to upload a research paper).
Moreover, candidates must arrange for 3 letters of recommendation to be sent to finance.recrutement@hec.ca. The online procedure must be completed by November 30, 2021; however, applications will be considered on a rolling basis and the positions will remain open until it is filled.
